Jays score heavy against Rookie Eflin in his first start

The Phillies 2012 first round draft pick, Zach Eflin, got his first start last night and it was a night he would rather forget as the Blue Jays. Eflin pitched just 2.2 innings but gave up nine hits and nine runs.

“You’ve got to forget about it,” Eflin said of his first ML start. “Obviously, I’ll remember it for the rest of my life, but from a pitching standpoint, I’ve got to bounce back. I’ve got to throw quality strikes and get ahead of the hitters.”

The Phillies have no time to dwell as they prepare for game three tonight at 6:05 at Citizens Bank Park as Jeremy Hellickson takes the mound for the good guys and Marco Estrada for the Jays.

Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets for tonight’s and tomorrow’s game are still available so be sure to get yours now and help cheer on your Philadelphia Phillies!
